Crystal is a US hop variety. Expect spicy and clean character from late additions or dry hopping. Primarily useful for flavour and aroma additions; it can still contribute bitterness when used earlier in the boil; it is commonly associated with lagers and milds. The catalogue alpha-acid default is 3.5%; always use the value printed on the current packet or lot for bitterness calculations.
